Agency History

Reynolds Insurance is a successor agency to the Paul Wunchman Agency which opened its doors in Santa Fe in 1882.  Mr Wunchman operated the agency until 1929 when he sold it to Carl Bishop.  Over the years Mr. Bishop joined forces with LeRoy Manual and William Hunker to form Bishop, Manual & Hunker, Inc. which operated in Santa Fe under the same ownership until 1973.  Ransom Reynolds joined the agency in 1970, and purchased the agency in 1973 and changed the name to Reynolds Insurance Inc.

Ransom Reynolds hired Jake Rodar in 2004, who started as a commercial agent as well as working with both personal insurance, life, health and group benefits.  Ransom made Jake Rodar Vice President of Reynolds Insurance in early 2007.  In the summer of 2007 Ransom Reynolds passed away suddenly from a stroke and Jake took over the operations of Reynolds Insurance.  The team at Reynolds Insurance made sure the 125 year old agency would continue to be a part of the Santa Fe community.

In 2008, Jake purchased the company from the estate of Ransom Reynolds.  Reynolds Insurance continues the tradition of earnest effort, honest dealings and good protection in all lines of insurance.

Reynolds Insurance is a Cornerstone Agency with Chubb & Sons as well as an Elite Agency with American Hallmark Insurance.  We also represent Travelers, Fireman’s Fund, MetLife, The Hartford, Mass Mutual, Colorado Casualty, Philadelphia, Zurich as well as many other fine companies.
